Who We Are
We are a community of faith gathered by God's love to live and share the teachings of Jesus Christ with one another, with the community of Lockport, and with the world.

In response to God's gifts to us in this life and God's promises for the life to come, we gather to worship God; to share the gospel; to render loving service to all humanity; and to strive for righteousness, justice, and peace.

As such, we approach our ministry with an openness to ecumenism and diversity.

Our Mission Statement
Open to God's Spirit,
we reach out in Love to the World
and invite All to journey with us.
I am the UCC . . .

My roots go back 2,000 years,
     but I am very much
     now and today.

Instead, I embrace modern
intelligent thinking:
     Acceptance.
     Inclusiveness.
     Justice.
     I can even be lighthearted.
     My open-armed approach is
appealing to people of all races
     and lifestyles.  Which might
     explain why my congregations
     are diverse and unique.

Another funny thing happens
when you're less judgemental.
     You allow people to search,
     discover and flourish.  My friends
come to me to seek their own
     answers, look inside themselves
     and explore their spiritual lives.

In the end,
my personality is
reflective of Christ's.
     Open.
     Embracing.
     Nurturing.
     And eternally
     relevant.

What We Believe
Our Faith is 2,000 years old, but our thinking is not.

We believe in God's continuing creative movement in the world.  This is why we are committed to hearing God's ancient story in new and fresh ways. We prepare our members for ministry in the present and future church, and we embrace new ways of thinking.

We seek to nourish our minds just as we nourish our souls.
